THE ROLE OF GURU HAJI HARLI THROUGH DA'WAH TO STRENGTHEN ISLAMIC VALUES AND SOCIAL VALUES IN THE PAHAMPANGAN COMMUNITY

Social change has a significant social impact in a particular area due to various factors. The presence of ulama figures such as Guru Haji Harli in the Pahampangan community has had an impact on strengthening Islamic values and the social values of the community. This research aims to describe the role of Guru Haji Harli's preaching through preaching to strengthen Islamic values and social values in the Pahampangan community. This study used a descriptive qualitative method. Data was collected through interviews, observation and document study. The subjects of this research were Guru Haji Harli's closest family, starting from his wife, children and in-laws, Guru Haji Harli's recitation congregation and the Pahampangan community. Data were analyzed following the Miles and Huberman model. The research results illustrate that Guru Haji Harli has succeeded in strengthening Islamic values and social values in the Pahampangan community. First, Islamic values show that the behaviour of the Pahampangan community is following Islamic teachings, such as increasing Islamic behaviour, which has an impact on the high level of security and order in the Pahampangan community; wedding party activities (walimah syar'i) are not accompanied by the mixing of men and women; art and music performances do not contain elements of lust. Second, it appears in social values, namely barakatan in the form of pahadring (deliberation) activities in preparation for religious events and weddings; balawatan, namely community activities to help (cooperation) with religious events and community celebrations; Bailangan is the activity of visiting sick residents together. Guru Haji Harli's missionary role has succeeded in strengthening both Islamic values and social values in the Pahampangan community.
