Abstract

The Revolutionary Government Rebellion of the Republic of Indonesia (PRRI) rebellion in Indonesia in the late 1950s was a reaction to centralization policies that led to developing inequality between Java and outside Java. The study analyzed the economic, political, and military factors that fueled the insurgency, focusing on demands for decentralization and regional autonomy. Historical data and literature reviews are used to identify the main causes and effects of this movement. The results showed that dissatisfaction with central government policies was the main driver of the uprising. This research confirms the importance of equitable decentralization policies to avoid similar conflicts in the future.
